Hi, my name is Matt Trumbo, pastor of Roanoke House of Prayer. I have lived in Roanoke all of my life. I have a beautiful wife, Tamra, a daughter, Alexia, and a son, Luke. My wife and I met in High School, she was a cheerleader and I played basketball for Larue County. We had many classes together our junior year and were able to get to know each other better. Feb. 15, 1992 was our first date and we were married on July 13, 1996. I have went to church my whole life. My parents are Mac and Julia “Cookie” Trumbo, who are the founder’s of Roanoke House of Prayer. I turned my resume in to the Board of Directors at Roanoke House of Prayer in January of 2002, God had called me to preach, and to hand in my resume. While I was growing up, I was very quiet and shy. So for me to become pastor was a surprise to many people, they didn’t know I could talk, and neither did I. By the grace of God, I have now been pastor of Roanoke House of Prayer since that time in 2002. Five years before I had become pastor I was the youth pastor, and currently my wife and I still lead the youth. I did attend Elizabethtown Community College for two years after high school; however, at that time I did not know that I would become a pastor, and I have never attended seminary. I thank God that he has anointed me to preach his word. I do not have the educational credentials like many pastors, but I can tell you that I have been sent by God and He is the one who guides my steps, and gives me the ability to stand before him and my congregation to preach his word every week.
